¿Why start backcountry?
Participants get the chance to explore pristine, untouched snow in one of the most beautiful and remote regions of Patagonia. Unlike crowded ski resorts, backcountry skiing offers a sense of freedom, allowing skiers to carve their own path through untouched powder while surrounded by dramatic landscapes.
No experience no problem
The program is designed for beginners, making it approachable for those with little to no backcountry experience. With professional guides teaching essential skills like avalanche safety, terrain navigation, and ski techniques, participants can build confidence and expand their skiing abilities in a safe, controlled environment
Program Overview
Day 1 - Introduction and gear set up
The adventure begins with an introduction to ski touring equipment and techniques. You'll meet your expert guides, learn how to use touring skis, skins, and avalanche safety gear, and practice basic uphill movement. The day ends with a short tour to get comfortable with skinning and transitions.

Day 2 - Catedral ski resort backcountry access
Cerro Catedral offers a mix of lift-accessed and backcountry terrain. You'll use the resort's infrastructure to access higher elevations before touring into untouched areas. This day is designed to help you transition from controlled environments to true backcountry skiing.

Day 3 - Backcountry to Challuaco mountain:
Today we move a bit to the East and we have the chance to check an different ambient and views. The tour to challuaco summit offers breathtaking scenery, pristine snow, and an unforgettable ski descent. Different forest and below terrain give us the chance to set more desnivel on this trip.

Day 4 - Ski Touring at Cerro Lopez
The final day takes you to one of the most stunning locations in Patagonia. Cerro Lopez offers a mix of accessed and backcountry terrain. Depend on the terrain and snow pack conditions we have many options in this beauty mountain at the side west of the city. An approach by jeep bring us close to the snow boundary .Its a full day activity with an average of 1.500 vertical meters gain.
