Overview
The Bariloche Ski Touring program is a multi-day adventure that takes experienced skiers deep into the heart of Patagonia and Chile’s stunning volcanic landscapes. This journey blends technical ascents, thrilling ski descents, and cultural exploration, covering iconic locations like Mt. Tronador, Volcán Osorno, and Volcán Casa Blanca. Over nine days, you'll explore vast glaciers, high-altitude terrain, and untouched powder while staying in remote mountain huts and cozy lodges. The trip also includes a scenic border crossing into Chile, allowing you to experience the dramatic contrast between the Andean landscapes of both countries.

Who is this Program For?
This program is designed for experienced backcountry skiers or strong resort skiers looking to transition into ski touring in high-alpine environments. You should be comfortable skiing variable terrain and have a good level of fitness, as the trip involves long ascents, technical descents, and sustained days in the mountains. Previous ski touring experience is recommended but not required if you have a strong ski background and are eager to learn.

SCHEDULE
Day 1 - Arrival in Bariloche
Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up at the airport and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, we’ll check equipment and ensure everything is ready for the adventure. The day ends with a welcome dinner where you’ll meet your guides and fellow skiers.

Day 2 - Approach to Refugio Meiling, Mt. Tronador​
We drive north from Bariloche to the base of Mt. Tronador (80 km, approximately 2 hours). After registering at the ranger station, we begin our ascent to the Meiling Hut, skinning or hiking up 1000 meters over 4 to 5 hours. Once at the hut, there will be time to relax and explore the surroundings with a short ski tour before dinner.

Day 3 - Glacier Ski Touring on Mt. Tronador:​
An early start takes us into the heart of Tronador’s glacier terrain, where the mountain views evolve dramatically throughout the day. We will ascend up to 1500 meters, navigating different lines and enjoying a full day of high-altitude ski touring before returning to the hut.

Day 4 - Frias Glacier & Return to Bariloche:
A shorter morning tour on the Frias Glacier provides one last opportunity to explore the stunning Tronador region before we descend back to the base. From there, we drive back to Bariloche for a well-deserved rest at the hotel.​

Day 5 - Scenic Drive to Chile:
Today, we cross into Chile via a stunning 250 km route, witnessing the dramatic changes in landscape between Argentina and Chile. After completing border formalities, we continue to the Teski Hut on the slopes of Osorno Volcano, our base for the night.

Day 6 - Osorno Volcano Summit Attempt:
We ascend Osorno Volcano, following the ski lifts before making our way to its conical summit. After a thrilling ski descent back to the hut, we drive to the Antillanca area, where we unwind in the natural hot springs at Aguas Calientes before spending the night in a cozy mountain cabin.

Day 7 - Ski Touring on Volcán Casa Blanca & Return to Argentina
The final ski touring day takes us to Volcán Casa Blanca. If conditions allow, we ascend to the summit, enjoying vast valleys and pristine terrain. In the afternoon, we begin the journey back to Argentina, crossing the border and stopping for a celebratory dinner on the way to Bariloche.

After an incredible journey through the Andes, we transfer you to the airport for your departure.
